Should steroids be demonized for kidney failure?

Anabolic steroids are frequently blamed for various diseases of users. Undoubtedly, these medications may lead to some undesirable reactions. The former American bodybuilder Flex Wheeler experienced kidney dysfunctions. This person submitted to a kidney transplant. Since he used anabolic steroids, the media decided to demonize these medications for kidney dysfunctions of Flex Wheeler. In fact, Flex Wheeler had a hereditary kidney disease. Undoubtedly, application of steroids contributed to the complications. But did the bodybuilder take anabolic steroids correctly? Did he follow reasonable instructions linked with doses and duration of usage? No, he didn’t. Flex Wheeler used too enhanced doses of steroids. Moreover, he applied these medications long period of time. In addition to these conditions, the former American bodybuilder took also other medications that had negative influence on his kidneys. So, anabolic steroids should not be blamed for Flex Wheeler’s disease.
As it has been already mentioned, another situation is related to the former bodybuilder Luke Wood. He died after a kidney transplant, being a young person. The media also chose to demonize anabolic steroids in this situation. It was affirmed that steroids caused kidney disorders in Luke Wood. But you should be informed that Luke Wood used not only steroids. He administered also insulin, pain drugs, DNP and other products which influenced on the kidneys negatively. Thus, it is impossible to affirm that anabolic steroids were responsible for his kidney failure and death.
According to many experts, if steroids are used appropriately, serious kidney dysfunctions don’t occur.
