Why are only steroid users blamed?

Sportswriters often write articles about those that possess unnatural muscles and strength. Reading their affirmations, you can see that those that apply anabolic steroids and/or other related medications are harshly blamed. Such individuals are criticized in the society. They are called “cheaters”. It is stated that those that administer steroids for performance-enhancing effects may become addicted to these drugs. Many articles also contain information linked with probable undesirable consequences of steroids. However some adverse effects appear in steroid users, others are not proven scientifically. For example, it is widely reported about violence and murders committed by consumers of steroids. It is claimed that steroids may cause uncontrolled behavior which results in crimes. However, so named “roid rage” linked with these drugs is considered to be a controversial issue.
A lot of persons affirm that application of anabolic steroids for increase of muscle mass and strength, hardening of muscles and fat loss is a moral issue. Let think! Is this statement free from hypocrisy? Why are just anabolic steroids blamed? Do just these medications make the society unnatural? Let examine other aspects of our society! What do you think about sexual stimulants? It is affirmed that you should not suffer from sexual dysfunctions, when there are appropriate medications to get rid of such problems. Furthermore, what do you think about preparations for anti-aging needs? Why should you have evident wrinkles, if there are methods to hide your age? Models and actors use certain medications but they are not named “cheaters”. Students use certain medications in order to increase their cognitive abilities. They are not demonized too. Several specialists that have conducted certain studies claim that those that take steroids for increase of physical abilities are more harshly blamed than those that apply certain preparations to increase cognitive abilities. Is it fair?
As you see, our world is full of hypocrisy, ignorance and unfair accusations. May you demonize steroid users in this society? May you claim that application of steroids for enhancement of physical performance is a moral issue? Be real! If you begin to demonize consumers of steroids, don’t forget about other aspects in the society!
