Success of Norwegian police officers in Operation Gilde

Norwegian law enforcement officers have busted a huge doping ring. More than 10 individuals related to illicit actions were arrested. Six persons were sentenced to jail.
According to statements of the newspaper Dagens N?ringsliv (DN), the doping ring was set in Trondheim. DN provided own investigation linked with illegal sale of anabolic steroids in Norway. Police investigated the case.
It is supposed that a secret center is established in Trondheim. It controls illicit sale of doping drugs and money laundering.
The arrested individuals were connected with bodybuilding, fitness and health industries in Norway. Several persons were arrested at their homes; others – in business offices, car lots and tram stops.
Police officers suggest that some persons are hidden by the names of Guru and Karma.
Robert Eilertsen is included in those who have been arrested. He is an operator and editor of a fitness blog. This person coached top sportspeople within football, boxing, handball, etc.
It is suspected that Eilertsen and some other individuals have provided dangerous doping medications to Norwegian youth during several years.
About 60 police officers were implicated in raids. The raids caused 11 arrests.
Since the investigation continues, police officers say nothing about their further actions.
Norwegian customs officers and tax authorities assisted the investigation.
Many computers and certain documents were seized during raids of homes, business officers, cars, etc.
Eilertsen and Gunnar Strand Jacobsen, another arrested individual, have denied their connections with doping products. Jacobsen is the owner of Kaliber Gym in Trondheim, one of the most famous gyms in Norway. Jacobsen was personal trainer of sportspersons that got prizes. He coached sportspersons who attended to different sports. He is claimed to be a high-qualified nutrition expert.
The raid was called “Operation Gilde”.
Eilertsen and Jacobsen are charged with sale of doping medications and money laundering.

Large seizures of drugs by Spain’s police

Spain’s police officers arrested Scott Boote, a man, who was involved in illegal operations linked with an international drug ring producing stimulants that increase sexual desire. Large quantities of products were seized by police officers. It was estimated the street value of these drugs. It was confirmed that it was almost ?3 million. A Briton, a 72-year-old man from Liverpool, was also questioned. According to statements of police officers, these two men manufactured 8 new sexual stimulants and offered them for sale per internet without examining patients. Six other persons were also questioned during this investigation. Investigators confirmed that the individuals who were implicated in this illegal drug ring got vehicles and another property due to distribution of illegal sexual preparations. Several bank accounts were blocked by police. More than 100,000 dosages of anabolic steroids, properties and vehicles were confiscated.
A spokesperson for Spanish police stated that all members of the drug ring lived very luxuriously. They have many properties and luxury cars. They purchased properties abroad in order to hide the illicit business. Investigators determined that the ring offered for sale sexual medications for both males and females. The preparations were advertised on internet. Individuals from the whole world could buy the products. So, people from the USA, the UK, Thailand, Malaysia, etc. were customers who acquired medications from this ring. Three factories functioned in Costa del Sol. Investigators suppose that those who were manufacturing the medications didn’t have proper knowledge for this purpose. According to them, the persons who were implicated in the drug ring created also legal business in order to hide the illegal one. They tried to give legitimate appearance to illegal actions. Several commercial companies were managed by these persons in order to mask the profits obtained due to illegal sale of sex stimulants.
Boxes that had to be sent to customers were also found by police. Anabolic steroids were also included in the drugs seized by law enforcement officers. The arrested persons also possessed packages, labels and leaflets.

Influence of steroid use on drivers’ behavior

However it is not yet proven scientifically whether “roid rage” is an undesirable consequence of steroids, these medications are blamed for some criminal actions quite often.
Michael Barton, a young man from Britain, hit a Ford Fiesta, while he was driving his Volkswagen Golf. Paul Gard was driving the Ford Fiesta. Barton had overtaken Paul Gard. But then he had to pull back in front of him, since another vehicle was driving the other way. Paul Gard flashed him. So, he had to brake suddenly. Barton became raging, stopped his Volkswagen Golf, broke the wing mirror of Paul Gard’s Ford Fiesta and hit the man in the face. Then Gard’s wife called police. While she was calling, Barton left calmly.
Michael Barton, a 21-year-old man who has a child of two years old, applies steroids to bulk up. Thus, it has been claimed that these preparations affected his behavior. The defense attorney for this young man claimed that steroids influenced negatively on temperament of his client, since these drugs increased his testosterone levels.
Earlier Barton was convicted for some crimes, including domestic violence. Last year this young man pleaded guilty to an assault, criminal damage and driving carelessly due to his anger following assaults.
The judge Patrick Hooton at Portsmouth Crown Court Deputy Circuit claimed that he was not sure that steroids led to improper behavior. But he noted that it was totally mad to get furious and hit a person in the face just because he flashed him. The judge noted that Barton’s behavior was too immoral and he announced: “you ought to go to prison”.
So, this young man was sentenced to 6-month jail sentence suspended for a year; he was also sentenced to pay 500 dollars in compensation and ?277 for damage of Paul Gard’s vehicle.

Testosterone use may be masked by consumption of green tea

Sportspersons become more and more sophisticated in steroid use. They study new methods to mask their intake of forbidden preparations. Some athletes spend time studying scientists’ statements that may help them to hide that they dope. Today a way has been discovered: sportspersons may mask usage of testosterone with the help of green tea.
Testosterone represents a hormone which is secreted in body naturally. Thus, it can be difficult for anti-doping organizations to define that an athlete has taken testosterone. T: E ratio testing is commonly used by anti-doping organizations. Such tests may show uncommon ratio of testosterone to epitestosterone in urine. But it is not capable to display difference between testosterone that has been produced in body naturally and that introduced into body with the help of injections, creams, etc.
Declan Naughton and his colleagues at Kingston University ( London) have discovered that green tea has such compounds which are called “catechins”. They have capacity to inhibit the enzyme UGT2B17. This enzyme induces joining glucuronic acid to testosterone. If UGT2B17 is inhibited, less testosterone glucoronide is excreted in urine.
Catechins, the compounds that have ability to mask testosterone use, are in green and white tea. Such compounds are not in black tea.
Naughton and his colleagues have conducted certain experiments. They confirm that a cup of strong green tea hides administration of testosterone.
Thus, those athletes who use testosterone may reduce quantities of testosterone excreting in urine by drinking of green or white tea. Green or white tea can block excretion of testosterone, increasing circulating levels of this hormone.
The World Anti-Doping Agency was informed about the discovering by the scientists. If this process occurs, it is not worthy to subject athletes to urine tests. Blood tests must be performed in order to determine that a person has used testosterone.
Olivier Rabin, the WADA’s scientist, claims that regular checks of blood steroids will be added. Everything will be done by anti-doping agencies in order to prevent fooling of urine tests.

Amino acids were discovered in bottles sent to Wim Vansevenant and intercepted by customs

The case against Wim Vansevenant, a former Belgian rider, changed essentially. An analysis illustrated that the doping preparations which were ordered by him didn’t contain the contents enumerated on the labels. The former Belgian rider was cheated by the company where he ordered the medicines.
Last year some packages sent to the former athlete by an Australian company were intercepted by customs officials. It was written on the intercepted bottles that they contained the doping medicine TB-500. It represents a peptide hormone which has ability to induce enhancing stamina and speed healing. An investigation was started by the Belgian authorities. It was suspected that Wim Vansevenant supplied the Omega Pharma-Lotto team with doping medications. This sportsperson rode professionally 10 years, from 1998 to 2008. Last 6 years of his riding career he was working with this team.
An analysis of the bottles intercepted by customs showed that just amino acids were presented. Wim Vansevenant’s lawyer claimed that the accusations had to be dropped. He pointed out that since the medication was not linked with doping, the former sportsperson didn’t deserve to be punished.
The prosecutor’s spokesperson Johan Lescrauwaet affirmed that the contents didn’t correspond to the name of the medicine which was written on the label and to the affirmations of the former rider.
Just amino acids were discovered in the bottles. No any doping drug. Thus, there is no any evidence that Wim Vansevenant provided doping products to other persons.
The hearing of the former Belgian rider was scheduled to be later.

Bruce Goldberger criticizes anti-doping agents again

Testimonies of the celebrated toxicologist Bruce Goldberger will probably impact essentially on decision of the court in the case linked with Roger Clemens. Bruce Goldberger is the Professor of Pathology and Director of Toxicology at the University of Florida College of Medicine. This expert testified on behalf of Roger Clemens. Although he was invited in order to replace Don Catlin, the director of the WADA UCLA Medicine, Goldberger’s testimonies didn’t correspond to those that are ordinarily presented by anti-doping agencies. This toxicologist testified on behalf of the accused baseball player.
Bruce Goldberger is known due to his appearing on various news programs. Even during such programs he doesn’t refrain from critical words. He criticized certain anti-doping agencies, including the WADA.
Bruce Goldberger expressed criticism for federal prosecutors in the case connected with Roger Clemens. They based on “beer can evidence” provided by McNamee to prove that his client applied steroids and HGH. Brian McNamee, the former personal trainer of this baseball player, provided a beer can with utilized needles and syringes which had traces of such steroids, as Sustanon, Primobolan Depot and Deca Durabolin and were mixed allegedly with Roger Clemens’ blood.  The beer can was kept by McNamee over 6 years. The toxicologist argued that such basis was not reasonable.
Bruce Goldberger confirmed that it was impossible to base on “beer can evidence”. He added that the accusation couldn’t be proven because the theory of contamination could present.
Thus, Bruce Goldberger didn’t support the affirmations of the governmental agents. Earlier the toxicologist also expressed criticism connected with evidence applied by some anti-doping organizations.
Several years ago Goldberger testified on behalf of Floyd Landis, an American celebrated cyclist, when this sportsman appealed positives for steroids. A WADA-accredited lab situated in France discovered traces of exogenous testosterone; T: E ratio and carbon isotope ratio tests were used by the lab. Goldberger used similar words and criticism during the appeal linked with Floyd Landis.
The toxicologist Bruce Goldberger noticed during an interview that the WADA used unsuitable ways and violated rights of athletes in order to achieve the success in anti-doping programs.
As for Floyd Landis, he lost his appeal and acknowledged that he had used steroids, EPO and some other related products.
No one can be sure which results will be achieved by Roger Clemens. Will the government prove that he has lied before the Congress? Will he admit to using forbidden preparations? Or will be the results contrary?

New arguments of Rusty Hardin are supported by photos of Roger Clemens

It is known by each baseball fan that Roger Clemens is accused in obstruction of justice. It is believed that he has lied before Congress about usage of steroids and HGH.
The attorney Rusty Hardin noticed that Roger Clemens’ physical appearance didn’t change greatly before, during and after his working with the coach Brian McNamee. He claimed that this aspect was a proof that Roger Clemens hadn’t used steroids and other related products.
Changing in muscle mass is frequently utilized by federal prosecutors as proof that a sportsperson takes steroids or/and other related preparations. But this tendency was not utilized during the case against Roger Clemens. No one could confirm that Roger Clemens’ muscles displayed that he had applied steroids and HGH. It is one of differences between the cases against Roger Clemens and Barry Bonds.
When it comes to the governmental case against Barry Bonds, feds called numerous individuals in the trial that could testify that anabolic steroids led to significant changes in physical appearance of this athlete. They confirmed that intake of steroids caused increase of muscle size, increased size of the head and shrunken testicles in Barry Bonds.
So, the defense attorney Rusty Hardin presented four pictures of Roger Clemens. The photos displayed physique of Roger Clemens, including the time when Clemens was working with Brian McNamee. The attorney noticed that the photos displayed that there was no difference in physical changes that could support that he took steroids and HGH.
The defense attorney for Roger Clemens confirmed that the photos manifested just the process of ageing. The masseur Cheryl Redfern also claimed that she didn’t observe any changes in physique of Roger Clemens. Roger Clemens had neither back acne, nor gynecomastia, nor essentially enhanced muscle size.
Phil Garner a former Major League Baseball player also confirmed that there were not any significant changes in physical appearance and performance of Roger Clemens during working with the trainer Brian McNamee.
Steve Durham, the Assistant US Attorney tried to discredit the affirmation about lack of physical changes in Roger Clemens during the cross-examination of Garner. He claimed that while several steroids increased muscle mass, others didn’t promote adding muscles. So, he confirmed that the photos could display nothing about steroid use.
Federal prosecutors desire to take advantages in both cases: in the case against Roger Clemens and in that against Barry Bonds. While they claim that changes in physical appearance of Barry Bonds manifest that he has taken steroids, lack of changes in physical appearance of Roger Clemens doesn’t prove that he hasn’t used steroids.

Forensic toxicologist: ECA had more impact on murder’s behavior than steroids

Anders Behring Breivik was charged with murder of 70 persons. He bombed buildings of government in Oslo (Norway). Certain teenagers of the Workers’ Youth League camp were also murdered by him on Utoya island in July 2011.
Anders Behring Breivik trained for the murders essentially. He said that he had utilized steroid cycles.  Since he consumed steroids, these preparations were blamed for the massacre by numerous journalists.
But what did experts affirm? Joerge Moerland, a professor of forensic toxicology at the Norwegian Institute of Public Health, contested statements of these reporters. Dr. Moerland confirmed that anabolic steroids didn’t contribute in rampage of this person. But the expert acknowledged that it was impossible to contest that these products could cause aggressiveness in the criminal.
An “ECA stack”, a combination of caffeine, aspirin and ephedrine, was also taken by the killer. In fact, this combination is normally taken by bodybuilders in order to lose fat and stimulate themselves for workouts. It was defined that the murderer has used great amount of the stack. The quantity taken by him was by 50 % more enhanced than it is allowed under European Union’s rules.
The expert Joerge Moerland confirmed that the killer’s behavior was more significantly influenced by the “ECA stack” than steroids. He explained that ephedrine might lead to desire to be involved in risky activities. Joerge Moerland confirmed that Breivik’s central nervous system had been affected by ephedrine.
Nonetheless, the specialist Joerge Moerland mentioned about limitation of the ECA’ impact. The quantity of caffeine consumed by the killer was equal to about 5 cups of coffee. So, the quantity was not enough great in order to be blamed for the crimes.
Breivik described his application of steroids and dietary supplements in details. He also recommended other individuals purchasing steroids at Alinshop.
The murderer expressed his dislike of Dianabol because it could cause liquid retention. He explained that Dianabol could add more body mass than consumers could carry. According to his affirmations, circa 50 % of the mass obtained because of this steroid is fluid retention. The criminal decided to apply certain combinations that were suitable for his needs.
Breivik studied effects of various steroids in order to choose those who were suitable for his purposes. He affirmed that Testosterone Propionate had certain superiorities over Dianabol. He also suggested that combinations of Dianabol with Aromasin or administration of Dianabol followed by intake of Winstrol could benefit essentially.
Thus, Anders Breivik prepared for the massacre scrupulously. He spent time in order to choose and plan steroid cycles and administration of dietary supplements. He also pondered about each aspect related to attacks and murders.
However several persons confirmed that Anders Breivik was legally insane, it’s wrong. It is obvious that the crimes have been committed consciously.

While police officers raid houses of motorcycle gangs for weapons, they find steroids

The newspaper “The Sydney Morning Herald” reports that illicit administration of steroids has become widespread in Australia due to outlaw motorcycle gangs. The gangs get high profit and reduced risks.
Nick Bingham, a detective, has confirmed that New South Wales Police doesn’t focus on investigation connected with application of steroids but anabolic steroids become targets of investigations, when police officers arrest motorcycle gangs for violation of other laws.
According to the detective Nick Bingham, although New South Wales policemen don’t raid houses of gangs for steroids, they find them, when searches for weapons and psychoactive drugs are conducted.
Nick Bingham has claimed that they usually seize such quantities of steroids from motorcycle gangs that are just for personal use. Quantities of other drugs that are usually found in possession of gangs are much greater than those of steroids.
Bingham has confirmed that criminals prefer applying anabolic steroids in order to create threatening muscular bodies. They desire to look big and strong.
Although Bingham is sure that gangs possess steroids only for personal application, the newspaper “The Sydney Morning Herald” presents opposite point of view. It is reported that motorcycle gangs play great role in smuggling of steroids.
Although gyms are claimed to be the most important sources of steroids for bodybuilders, it is stated by “The Sydney Morning Herald” that certain gyms have close connections with motorcycle gangs. The Herald claims that many seizures made by the Australian Customs and Border Protection Service are related closely to distribution of steroids by motorcycle gangs.
According to affirmations of Australian Customs, mail seizures of steroids have been enhanced essentially in comparison with past years.
More than 2, 000 seizures were made in 2009-2010 and more than 5, 000 seizures of steroids were recorded in 2010-2011.
Many seizures were related to personal intake of steroids imported illegally by bodybuilders.

David Segui is ready to be involved in trial linked with Roger Clemens’ case

Federal prosecutors asked the judge Reggie Walton to permit the former first baseman of the Major League Baseball David Segui to present testimony in the trial related to the case of Roger Clemens. This person had a conversation with Brian McNamee, the former trainer of Roger Clemens. It is claimed that they have discussed about usage of steroids by the former famous baseball player.
Brain McNamee was called to testify against Roger Clemens because he turned out to be the only person that had direct knowledge about intake of steroids and other related medications by Clemens. Furthermore, he saved a beer can with vials, syringes and needles which were allegedly mixed with the blood of Roger Clemens. DNA analysis was made in order to define whether it was Clemens’ blood.
Rusty Hardin, a defense attorney for Roger Clemens, confirmed that the steroid evidence was thought up by Brian McNamee after the interrogation by federal prosecutors.
But prosecutors confirmed that David Segui told them that Brian McNamee said that he stored certain things as evidence of steroid use by some players in 2001. It was several years before Roger Clemens’ former trainer became the target of the investigation.
Information provided by David Segui to federal prosecutors differed completely from that provided to the sportswriter Jim Baumbach. His affirmations provided to Jim Baumbach were published in an article in 2008. According to that article, David Segui confirmed that he had never discussed about steroids with his friend Brian McNamee.
Segui found out about involvement of Brian McNamee into the case of Roger Clemens just in 2006, when he read an article in the Los Angeles Times.
David Segui was quite open in his discussions about personal application of steroids and other performance-enhancing drugs. He said that players of the Major League Baseball asked him many times whether he had used steroids. This person acknowledged that he had used them. But Segui affirmed that he had never spoken about usage of steroids with Brian McNamee.
Segui supported the decision of McNamee to save evidence about administration of banned drugs by his clients. According to David Segui, it is a proper decision because sometimes innocent guys are blamed but guilty individuals are covered. Thus, he could help to disclose the truth.
However federal prosecutors asked the judge Walton to permit Segui to present testimony in the trial linked with Roger Clemens, it is unclear yet whether the judge will allow it.

Traces of Nandrolone were found in urine samples of Andre Berto

The professional boxer Andre Berto tested positive for Nandrolone. The drug testing was conducted by the Voluntary Anti-Doping Agency (VADA).
This boxer had to fight against Victor Ortiz on June 23, 2012 in Los Angeles. This boxer agreed to submit to random drug testing before the match. Both “A” and “B” urine samples indicated about application of the anabolic steroid Nandrolone.
It was already the second time this month, when the VADA tested boxers and caught them administering steroids. The first of them was the boxer Lamont Peterson. He had to fight against Amir Khan. It seems to be strange that Peterson requested random blood and urine testing. The drug test conducted by the VADA showed that exogenous testosterone was in system of Peterson certain weeks before the fight.
Financial position of certain companies was affected due to tests conducted by the VADA. For example, Golden Boy Promotions lost essential potential profit due to positives of Lamont Peterson. It was determined by Richard Schaeffer, the CEO of Golden Boy Promotions, that the company lost 250, 000 dollars.
The cancelation of the fight between Andre Berto and Victor Ortiz will probably not cost so much because Andre Berto will be possibly replaced by another boxer who will fight against Ortiz.
The boxer Andre Berto didn’t explain what had caused his positives. This fighter hired the attorney Howard Jacobs that would represent and defeat him.
Berto confirmed that he had never administered steroids. So, he noticed that he investigated with his attorney what could cause positives for steroids. Andre Berto concluded that he had never cheated; he succeeded in sport because of hard work and dedication.
The attorney Howard Jacobs defeated numerous other sportspersons who turned out to be victims of fake nutritional supplements.
It is confirmed that since Nandrolone has very long half life and it is detected easily, it is not widespread among those who dope. But it has been manifested many times that certain nutritional supplements contained the compound nandrolone which caused positives for steroids. But since sometimes not each substance is enumerated on the label, athletes become victims of contaminated sport supplements.

Physician of Nevada Athletic Commission believes that steroids increase performance, if they are used only right before matches

Chael Sonnen, an American mixed martial artist is allowed to apply anabolic steroids. The doctor Timothy Trainor noticed that this sportsman actually experienced hypogonadism.
What does this disorder represent? Hypogonadism is linked with insufficient testosterone production. Physicians commonly recommend hormone replacement therapy in order to cure this disorder.
The fighter Chael Sonnen has received a therapeutic use exemption (TUE). So, this mixed martial artist is allowed to use steroids for medical needs and meet Anderson Silva at UFC 148 in July 2012.
According to instructions given by Sonnen’s doctor, he should introduce injections of Testosterone Enanthate and Testosterone Cypionate twice weekly. The doses that are indicated have not been disclosed. But under establishments of the Nevada Athletic Commission, blood serum levels of testosterone in this mixed martial artist must remain within normal range on the morning after the match with Silva.
The doctor Trainor confirms that those that compete with TUE must be tested on the morning after the match to determine whether they have applied something right before the competition.
The physician Trainor suggests that testosterone can cause performance-enhancing effects, if it is utilized right before the fight. He claims that injections must not be introduced in the days before a fight in order to prevent increased levels of testosterone.
But it seems that the NAC doesn’t know that steroids cause effects linked with increase of performance, not only if they are utilized right before competitions. Application of steroids influences greatly on performance during workouts before competitions. And the effects remain even after sportspeople stop applying them.
Sonnen had increased testosterone levels at UFC 117. He noted that he had tested positive because he had been on TRT.  After his appeal the suspension was reduced to 6 months from one year. But Chael Sonnen didn’t have any TUE that time.

World champion was sentenced to prison due to illicit drug trade

The world champion in weightlifting Galabin Boevski was sentenced to 9 months in prison because of illegal international drug trade. This sportsman was arrested in October 2011 at the Guarulhos International Airport in Brazil after he attempted to board the plane with eight kg of cocaine. This athlete was led to Bulgaria. The narcotic was estimated. It could be sold at the price of 500, 000 dollars on the streets in countries of Europe.
Boevski is a famous athlete in Bulgaria. He is considered to be one of the most well-known weightlifters in this country.
First he was caught administering steroids in 1995. Undoubtedly, he was suspended.
Then this athlete was caught taking banned preparations in 2004. It was the second time when he violated doping laws. In fact, Boevski didn’t test positive for any prohibited drugs. But anti-doping officials determined that he didn’t provide own urine. The urine which was provided by this athlete belonged to another individual. As a result, Galabin Boevski received 8-year suspension. During serving the suspension he was caught trafficking cocaine.
Boevski became well-known due to his success in weightlifting. This athlete won gold medals at several competitions: at the 1999 World Weightlifting Championships in Athens, the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney and the 2001 World Weightlifting Championships in Antalya.
At the 2003 World Championships in Vancouver this sportsperson and his teammates from Bulgaria provided urine samples which belonged to another individual. It was defined by anti-doping officials that the 3 urine samples were produced by one individual. These sportspersons received suspensions. Boevski appealed the suspension but it was not successful.
Boevski broke some world records at different competitions. He held three world records. The best lifts of this athlete were following: a 162, 5 kg snatch, 196, 5 kg clean and jerk and a 357, 5 kg of two lifts at the 1999 Championships.
It is wondering but this athlete’s reputation was not spoiled in Bulgaria. He utilized his status of celebrity in sports in order to establish a Technogym fitness center in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria. The center was called Atama Wellness and Spa.
Moreover, the Brazilian judge Maria Isabel do Prado affirmed that Galabin Boevski used also his status of celebrity in sports in order to traffic the narcotic cocaine. She also noted that this sportsman used the participation of his daughter in a Brazilian tennis tournament in order to cover his illicit deals linked with smuggling of the narcotic.
Galabin Boevski said that he would appeal the conviction.

Andy Pettitte probably misunderstood Roger Clemens

The desire of the federal government linked with the case of Roger Clemens was following: they hoped to prove that this person had lied before the Congress about administration of anabolic steroids and HGH. But the government was not able to reach this goal. It was expected that Andy Pettitte would confirm that Roger Clemens had acknowledged that he had used the forbidden preparations during a conversation in 1999 or in 2000. But the statement of Andy Pettitte was shocking for prosecutors. He stated that he couldn’t confirm that Roger Clemens had used steroids and HGH because he was not sure.
Actually, why were the prosecutors shocked by the affirmation of Andy Pettittte? This man swore for the 2008 Congressional hearings on administration of steroids in the Major League Baseball that Roger Clemens acknowledged that he had used HGH. But he presented opposite statements at the Barrett Prettyman Federal Courthouse in Washington.
Michael Attanasio, a defense attorney for Roger Clemens, asked Andy Pettitte whether he can claim that he is 50-50 that he has misunderstood Roger Clemens about HGH. Pettitte answered that he is indeed 50-50 about this factor.
When the prosecutors heard the answer of Andy Pettitte, they became confused. They affirmed that Andy Pettitte never answered this way, when he was asked several times.
The U. S. District Court Judge Reggie Walton noted that he understood that Andy Pettitte’s answer has been conflicted. In fact, his statement was following: “I don’t know”.
The attorneys for Roger Clemens used the moment of the prosecutors’ confusion. They requested the judge to ignore Andy Pettitte’s testimony because he was 50-50. The attorneys claimed that he probably misunderstood Roger Clemens or he can’t remember the details of the conversation.
The government has noticed that the jury still allows taking in consideration the affirmation of Andy Pettitte. ASUSA Dunham has confirmed that under federal laws jury is allowed to choose which testimony to believe. This person hopes that the jury will ignore the testimony which doesn’t support the government.
So, the testimony provided by Andy Pettitte and his wife led to problems. Testimonies of Andy’s wife during the first trial led to the declaration of a mistrial by the judge Walton.
Pettitte confirms that he is a friend of Roger Clemens. Clemens must also claim that they are friends after the last testimony of Andy Pettitte.

Media is also involved in investigation linked with case of Cullen Mutrie

Police officials came to Cullen Mutrie for a drug investigation. This ma shot five police officers at his home. As a result, the Greenland Police Chief Michael Maloney was killed; four police officers were seriously injured. The next morning this cop-killer and a woman were found dead.
It is suspected that Mutrie was utilizing steroids at the time of the shootout. Jane Young, the New Hampshire Associate Attorney General, noted that toxicology reports were waiting in order to find out whether metabolites of steroids were in the body of Cullen Mutrie.
Police confirmed that Cullen Mutrie had had a very muscular physique. He worked at Genetix Fitness in Seabrook. It was noted that he was 6 feet 3 inches tall. He weighed 275 pounds. During a raid that took place in July 2010 law enforcement officers found anabolic steroids at his home. The policeman Wayne Young found them in a coffee table. He said that he had observed a plastic bag with certain vials. A vial was with powder; others contained solution. According to the labels, they were steroids.
The vials were analyzed by the New Hampshire State Crime Lab. It was determined that the vials contained such products, as Trenbolone Acetate, Sustanon 250, Boldenone Undecylenate and Nandrolone Decanoate.
The professor of kinesiology John Miller was asked whether a connection between the criminal actions and aggressiveness due to anabolic steroids could present. The professor noted that it was plausible. But according to him, it is impossible to confirm that there was a direct link between usage of anabolic steroids and the shootout.
John Miller suggested that steroids that were on the black market were provided from legitimate pharmaceutical companies. But he has been mistaken because the majority of steroids which are offered for sales on the black market are produced in underground labs. It is even suggested that Cullen Mutrie produced steroids.
Since a link between criminal actions and intake of steroids is a controversial question, not only policemen but also correspondents investigate the case linked with Cullen Mutrie.

Alistar Overeem’s injectable use of testosterone was accidental

Alistar Overeem, a UFC fighter, appealed his suspension which was received by him for administration of anabolic steroids in April 2012. But he couldn’t win his appeal against members of NSAC. Alistar Overeem lost his license for 9 months. Then Alistar Overeem can come back.
Alistar Overeem admitted that he had taken injectable testosterone which was advised him by his health care provider. Alistar Overeem utilized the strategy which was considered to be boring. He claimed that he had never used anabolic steroids or other related medicines intentionally. Alistar Overeem tried to make the NSAC believe that his injectable administration of steroids was accidental.
David Chenoff, the defense attorney for Alistar Overeem, is experienced in representing celebrated sportspersons.
Chesnoff called the personal health care provider of his client to testify during the hearing. It was suggested that Dr. Molina would testify in defense for this fighter. Testimonies of this physician were too poor. The doctor Molina provided an explanation for prescriptions of certain medications which led to Overeem’s enhanced testosterone: epitestosterone ratio.
The treating physician of Alistar Overeem acknowledged that he directed and injected this fighter with a mixture of Toradol and Dexamethasone because he had an injury. In fact, these medications are applied for anti-inflammatory purposes. But intake of testosterone in case of injuries is not approved by the FDA.
It is believed that Dr. Molina hasn’t informed this sportsman that these preparations contain the anabolic steroid testosterone. But it is obviously that he has never asked about it.
So, testimonies of the doctor Molina turned out to show lack of the evidence connected with medical purposes for usage of prohibited medicines by Alistar Overeem. The doctor couldn’t provide any reasonable explanation which could justify recommendations of Toradol and Dexamethasone to this sportsman. Testimonies of the physician Molina worked against Alistar Overeem.
In fact, it was felt that Alistar Overeem was a victim of the doctor’s quack.
But it is possible to suppose that this strategy was designed by the defense attorney for this mixed martial artist.
Pat Lundval, a commissioner, was probably impressed by the defense of Alistar Overeem. She even called him a “smart guy”.
The members of the NSAC seemed to be convinced that Alistar Overeem has been really a great guy but he has surrounded himself with such questionable individuals, as the doctor Moline. They recommended him to find more qualified professionals in the future.
